XMPP instant messaging on Vippie softphone for IPhone/IPad
You can now chat with other users and see their actual presence in the Vippie for IPhone application. It works with XMPP servers, by default it connects to the server which is part of Voipswitch solution but can also be connected to other XMPP services like Google Talk, jabber.org etc.
The main functionality includes chat and presence, we plan to add more in near future. The IM is available from version 1.0.9.
XMPP instant messaging on Vippie SIP softphone client for Symbian
The recent version of the Vippie softphone for Symbian supports chat and presence services over XMPP protocol. XMPP is becoming a standard for IM and is used by service like Google Talk and Facebook. Also as a part of Voipswitch solution we deliver an XMPP server which combined with our Vippie clients and web portal/PBX supporting XMPP allows users to chat with each other, see other users presence status and also send files. Now this functionality is available also for mobile users on Symbian smartphones.
Vippie Lite on the Appstore
Under the name “Vippie Lite” you can find our Iphone/IPad application in the version that can be used with 3rd party sip servers. The Vippie supports codec g729, g722, GSM and g711. After installing it go to SIP settings where you can enter your SIP server IP or domain and set your login credentials. This version however does not support a range of extended features like callback and SMS which are supported only in connection with Voipswitch.

Instant Messenger transports support in the Portal and PBX interfaces
In the new version of the Portal and PBX interface we have added a support for transports to various IM protocols like Yahoo, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ, IRC and others. Soon we plan to add support for Skype.
New skin for IPhone SIP softphone client
With the release version 1.0.9 we introduced a new look of our Vippie softphone for IPhone/IPad. Also our customers can now select a skin for their customized version.
