Callback API through Web Service – with realtime status messages
Web Service API in Voipswitch has recently been extended to support Callback service. A callback call can be triggered by calling the web service’s method with proper parameters. Then the voipswitch initiates call to leg A and to leg B (optionally to the IP IVR asking for entering destination number). During the whole duration of the callback the get_status method can be called to receive actual status of both calls, for example alerting, connected, ended etc.
This functionality enables developers to create various applications using callback. The use of web service allows for connectivity from wide range of programming languages or scripts like for example JScript which is widely used in web programming or for example Flash/Flex technology. More details on the API wich complete list of supported methods can be found here.
Support for new DIDx API
Although the DIDx.net has been for long integrated with Voipswitch software, recently both companies completed their work on enhancing the compatibility by adding new features supported in the new DIDx API. Voipswitch’s users are able to order online the phone numbers from more than 90 countries worldwide, decide how many channels they need, order SIP trunks. Also from now they can select a particular phone number from the available pool of numbers. The video below shows the whole process step by step.
Article on VSPortal skinning now available
New article has been published in our Online Documentation on the subject of creating new skins (designs) for the VSPortal. Its content is available for registered users (registration is free) and can be found here
The VSPortal allows users to select a theme from the list available themes which is configurable by the system’s admin. Thus you can let your customers select the look of the web interface.
The process of creating new design is relatively easy even for persons without knowledge of flex technology.
Support – issue tracker + task manager + modules manager
In this month we launched a beta version of our new Customer Relation Manager (CRM) system intented to help with technical support and other related services rendered by our company.
Registered Voipswitch customers can log in to the system using their login/password pair (the same as for the previous CRM version). From this level they can browse thru the account setup, see purchased items associated with the account, request new softphone dialer, changing IP address or other requests.
The part of the CRM is also a ticket system where users can post issues and then monitor the progress, communicate with assigned support engineer and receive emails on completion.
