New version of the iPhone sip client released

The new version of the vippie sip client for iPhone, iPad and iPod is now available on the AppStore.

The main improvements include:

• Multitasking using SIP over TCP or using Keep Awake method
• SIP over TCP transport
• Echo cancellation
• Voicemail with 3rd party systems

• Support for OS 6
• Extended interoperability with a wide range of SIP equipment
• Improved voice quality over data networks
• Integrated Contacts

Since the first release of the Blackberry softphone earlier this year we have made lots of improvements based on the feedback we received.

One major achievement was passing interoperability tests with leading SIP softswitches and IP PBXes.

The improved version of the SIP stack guarantees the proper performance in most scenarios.

The voice quality over data networks (3G) is also significantly improved.

New features also include phone Contacts incorporated into the dialer.

The new version is offered to retail customers through our Web Retail Store.

We also offer branded versions for VoIP providers.

Android SIP softphone ver 3.0 with conferencing and multi line support

Earlier this month we have released new version of our Vippie for Android softphone. The version number is 3.0.

The main changes include:

- improved support for Android OS 2.1 and 2.2.
- multi line support, i.e. user can make or receive multiple calls at the same time and switch between them
- conference with multiple participants; user can bridge multiple active calls into one conference
 

XMPP instant messaging on Vippie softphone for IPhone/IPad

You can now chat with other users and see their actual presence in the Vippie for IPhone application. It works with XMPP servers, by default it connects to the server which is part of Voipswitch solution but can also be connected to other XMPP services like Google Talk, jabber.org etc.

The main functionality includes chat and presence, we plan to add more in near future. The IM is available from version 1.0.9.

XMPP instant messaging on Vippie SIP softphone client for Symbian

The recent version of the Vippie softphone for Symbian supports chat and presence services over XMPP protocol. XMPP is becoming a standard for IM and is used by service like Google Talk and Facebook.  Also as a part of Voipswitch solution we deliver an XMPP server which combined with our Vippie clients and web portal/PBX supporting XMPP allows users to chat with each other, see other users presence status and also send files.  Now this functionality is available also for mobile users on Symbian smartphones.
